| The 70's were alive again as the Slaughter County Roller Vixens hosted a day full of scrimmages, music, and retro style. | ||

|
The action got started at around 5, and kept on going as skaters from all around the area competed in 6 - 30 minute bouts. Some of the skaters even signed up for back to back bouts relying only on the short breaks in between to catch their breath, sign autographs, or perform wardrobe changes.

Is it just me, or is there a disproportionate number of SCRV skaters in this jam? |
||
| The music may have been hot but the skaters were the ones burning up the track as they delivered top notch derby action all night long. Even though some of the girls hadn't ever met before the scrimmage started the teams quickly meshed together and the competition went from 'fierce' to 'animal' in no time. |

The lineup consisted of themed scrimmages like "The Hustle vs The Electric Slide" and the highly anticipated "Kiss Army vs The BeeGee's" to name a few. Each new scrimmage brought with it another battle to be waged in the time of funk, big hair, and cheap gasoline.

| As the end of the scrimmages drew near the skaters didn't let off as they continued to pound the flat track. Even after skating hard for over 4 hours the skaters still had the energy to make their way down to the Desert Lounge to enjoy the after party with a live Disco Band. Seeing derby girls skate is one thing, but seeing them dance may warrant a whole new website unto itself! |

Special thanks go out to all of the skaters and refs from the other leagues who came out to participate with us, and of course to the fans as well who came out to catch a thrilling preview of SCRV's second season! |
